Across our company brands of Doras Hardware Ltd and J&P Hardware Ltd, we continually look to keep up-to-date with our impact on the environment and our responsibilities.
Vehicles
We work with what we can have influence on, starting with our fleet of company vehicles which is currently 50% electric powered as we phase out petrol and diesel cars and vans.
Recycling Practices
Our three locations have individual policies for recycling. If we feel we can not get the best service through our council refuse service locally, as we do in one of our locations, we will take it home to recycle!
Procurement
We tend to pack projects for ease of fitting on site. Consequently, we must remove products from individual packaging and repack it in a single pack which is labelled for each door. In the first instance, we look to obtain these items in bulk so we have less to recycle. Where this is not an option, we will carefully take packaging to reuse or recycle it.
Supply Chain
We actively encourage our supply chain partners to use recycled packaging and where possible reduce plastic too. Our responsibility for our planet is a collective choice. It’s good to know our main core suppliers, and the factories that make products for us, share these values too.
